Buying suitable educational software is expensive. Fortunately, Palm OS developers have really come through for teachers, and have created a variety of educational freeware applications that can be used throughout the curriculum. Due to memory constraints I can't keep all these applications on my handheld, so here are some of the freeware applications that are on my Palm (SEEN IN CAPS), I've tried, or I intend to try. I'm continuously swapping programs in and out, and I'll try to keep up on this page. I will place a strikethough on applications that I remove from my handheld because of technical problems

Pay Applications are available for the Palm, and I've purchased a few for my personal use. Below are some of the applications I've purchased along with some freeware alternatives. As to be expected, pay applications can be more fully featured then freeware alternatives, but they are not necessarily vital to successful handheld integration in the classroom. For myself, I would choose Hardware (keyboards and WiFi cards) over software. More Pay Applications can be found at Palmgear. Applications that appear in CAPS currently reside on my Zire 72 or SD Card.
